For the second year in a row, BTS will be attending the 2020 Grammy Awards. While RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook were invited as presenters last year, they will officially be performing in this year's awards show.
According to a report by All Kpop, BTS has officially been added to the lineup of performers for the 62nd Grammy Awards on Jan. 26 after Ariana Grande posted on Instagram that she ran into the Kpop idols during rehearsals. The confirmation from the 2020 Grammy Awards means that BTS will be joining the likes of Aerosmith, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Khalid, and Gwen Stefani who are also scheduled to perform for the prestigious awards.
Meanwhile, a report from Dazed Digital dropped more exciting information about BTS' performance. The magazine hinted that Lil Nas X and BTS are preparing for live collaboration on the Grammy stage. The news excited the Old Town Road hitmaker's fans as well as BTS' global ARMY fandom. Based on early reports, BTS will perform Old Town Road with Lil Nas X, Diplo, and Billy Ray Cyrus to put a new spin to the hit song.
It can be recalled that all of the artists have previously done their own versions of the track, including BTS' RM, who released his take as Old Seoul Road. The 2020 Grammys is expected to be a big night for Lil Nas X after the 20-year-old artist received six nominations including major awards like Album of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Meanwhile, BTS is, currently, in Los Angeles to promote Black Swan, the title track for their 2020 comeback album, Map of the Soul: 7. After the Grammys, RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook will talk about their new album in an exclusive interview on iHeartRadio LIVE with BTS with 102.7 KIIS FM's Jojo Wright. The interview will happen on January 27 while the official album release is set for February 21.
It can be recalled that part of the schedules of BTS comeback was the release of the teaser for Suga's Interlude: Shadow, which was well received by music critics for its evocative message and approach. BTS' Black Swan track, which was released as an art film performed by the MN Dance Company also drew attention to its parallels with Darren Aronofsky's award-winning film featuring Natalie Portman.
