Following the global epidemic announcement, the mayor of Wuhan province, the origin of the virus outbreak, announced that five million people left the city before the travel restrictions were imposed in its airport.

Last Sunday, the mayor of Wuhan Zhou Xianwang announced that there had been five million people who left the quarantine area before the travel restrictions were imposed. He added that at least 1,000 to 3,000 suspected cases to be diagnosed with the Wuhan coronavirus are yet to be confirmed.

According to a report by Market Watch, the director of China's National Health Commission Ma Xiaowei also revealed that the coronavirus had an incubation period of about 10 to 14 days. During this period, the virus could be contagious, but the patients who have the virus would not show symptoms yet. Thus, Ma claimed that there is little difference between the SARS virus from the newly detected Wuhan coronavirus.

Some patients who were later found to be infected did not incur a fever or had normal temperatures during the incubation period, reported South China Morning Post. It was then claimed that the delay of the showing of symptoms had made it a possibility for infected persons to go through the security protocols in airports even before the travel restrictions were imposed. These patients were referred to as hidden carriers.

It was then discussed that 80 people had died from the virus epidemic in China alone. The numbers rose since Sunday, which was 56 people up. It was also announced that during Saturday, there were only 1,975 infected people. However, by Sunday, the numbers went up to 2,744.

Xiaowei then said that patients were not required to pay for their health bills in medical institutions. At present, the youngest victim was a nine-month-old baby girl. Furthermore, it was confirmed that an infected person entered the US in Seattle. The infected man was said to have been to Wuhan for a short trip. Another case was confirmed with an elderly woman who also visited Wuhan last January 13, 2020. At present, there have been three confirmed cases in the US.

The latest case was announced last Sunday in Orange County. The third patient was also revealed to have visited Wuhan. When that person arrived in the US, the report claimed that she was a hidden carrier since she still did not manifest any symptoms during her trip.
