This Is Us season 4 episode 12 will be airing this coming Tuesday night on NBC, with the title "A Hell of a Week: Part Two." This would be one of the most emotional episodes so far this season, especially for Kevin. The series already featured many emotional episodes for the character, but this episode will further explore Kevin's past and what's waiting for him in the future.
In This Is Us season 4 episode 12, Kevin and Sophie reunited as the latter needs to burry someone she loved, her mother, Claire. Kevin decided to go back to town, as it can be recalled he and Sophie were once married and shared several milestones together. The episode will see the two revisiting their past and will recall the good memories the once shared.
Kevin has also gone through the same situation; he knows what it's like to lose someone. Some of the flashback scenes in This Is Us season 4 episode 12 also showed that he and Claire have formed a special bond during his youth. During his high school years, the time when his father passed away, it looks like Sophie's mother was an important figure in his life.
Other photos of the upcoming episode also showed Kevin and Sophie in a car having a conversation and both of them were dressed in funeral attire. Car conversations are often important moments for the Pearson family, so Kevin will likely find a way to put a smile on Sophie's face though it's a sad time for her. The question is: Will this moment enough to rekindle their romance?
This Is Us season 4 episode 12 will also see many scenes of young Kevin and Sophie enjoying movie dates, snuggling together at a bonfire, and spending some time together in a car. There's no doubt both of them truly love each other and care about one another. They've gone through almost everything and no one will understand them in the same way.
However, that doesn't mean they are destined to be together as CarterMatt noted there's no guarantee Kevin and Sophie will be together. It's still uncertain whether or not Sophie was in Kevin's bed when he received a phone call from Randall. So, the upcoming episode is important to understand the future and whether or not the two ended up together.
