WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for NCIS season 17 episode 14. Read at your own risk.

NCIS season 17 episode 14 aired on Tuesday night, Jan. 28, on CBS, with the title "On Fire." The episode sees Nick Torres fight for his life in the intensive care unit after being involved in a hit-and-run accident. Since the character was in a critical condition, many were worried he may not survive and Wilmer Valderrama is leaving the series.

NCIS season 17 episode 14 starts with Nick and Ellie Bishop out on a run. However, the two got involved in a hit-and-run, with Torres being severely injured and was brought into the ICU. Nick faces a life-and-death situation, with some thinking he's going to die at the end of the episode. The series isn't afraid to kill off some of its characters, like Caitlin Todd, and they could do it again this time.

As NCIS season 17 episode 14 goes on, Torres' fate is in question. The good thing is that he was able to recover and the person behind the accident has been revealed. The doctors extracted a piece of carbon-fiber in Torres' cervical spine. They soon discovered the material matched the car Xavier Zolotov drives. He is a trust fund baby who has violent criminal records.

Bishop, McGee, and Gibbs investigate and tried to get an answer to find out what exactly happened. Zolotov admitted to everything with the hit-and-run and the team was able to arrest him. However, Zolotov's royal blood and friends in high places were enough for him to get out of jail. But soon after, he was shot and found dead.

They suspected Bishop was responsible, as she said she wanted to kill the guy over what happened to her and Torres. But, then, Gibbs was confident that she didn't do it. Later on, it was hinted Gibbs may have killed Xavier to prevent Bishop from doing it. She's close to committing premeditated murder, but it looks like Gibbs was the one who did it.

The good thing in NCIS season 17 episode 14 is that Torres survived and the real person behind the accident was arrested. The episode also featured Torres and Bishop's moment and although they may not be together right now, it seems like their story is moving to that direction. Also, the episode showed Bishop really cares for Torres and even willing to commit a murder just for him.

Another good news is that Valderrama is not leaving NCIS. Many were happy about this since the actor brings energy on the show and often shares behind-the-scenes photos. In addition, he also teased viewers on social media and cares for the fans as well. Valderrama first joined the series in 2016 and became one of the most significant characters since then.
