Ever since the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their "shocking" plans of stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family through their official Instagram account, nothing much has been heard from the former actress. For all the fans and reporters know, as of the moment, the family of three is enjoying their newfound freedom and privacy in Canada.

Despite the Duchess' silence over the last few weeks, new scathing headlines have been taking the spotlight. As it happened, Samantha Markle shared a few thoughts about her sister in an interview earlier this week. Based on the general reception, her statements were not entirely pleasant.

According to Today Headline, Meghan Markle's sister deemed their recent royal split as "cruel." But, as opposed to the Duchess' reasons for quitting the royal life, Samantha "blamed" it on all the "weight of public duties and responsibilities."

She shared that she believes Meghan and Prince Harry enjoyed living the royal life. However, when their behavior and actions came to [elicit] anger and controversy from the public, this is when it all became "stressful" to them.

It is worth noting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously shared on air that they have been "struggling" keeping up with the royal life. They also revealed that this kind of "thriving" has been "internally damaging" them as a couple and an individual.

But, amid all the revelations, several reports noted that it was ultimately "racism" that caused Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to step down for good. Even so, Samantha still believes otherwise.

As per The Times UK, British politician, Priti Patel also shared the same views as Samantha Markle. In her statements, she claimed that Meghan is not a victim of media racism.

She also went to describe Britain as a "great" place for "opportunities" for "people of any background." The home secretary further attested that she "had not seen" any debates or any form of commentaries that she thought racist toward Meghan Markle.

The publication noted that Priti Patel's paternal grandparents were born in India. As for her parents, they just "emigrated" to Britain from Uganda.

Meanwhile, Samantha Markle continued her statements about the Duchess of Sussex and her relationship with their father, Thomas Markle. She revealed in her interview that there may no longer be a chance for her and her sister to reconcile. But, even so, she reportedly believes that Meghan should reconcile with Thomas given all things their father sacrificed for her during her youthful years.
