Three years have already passed since Donald Trump was formally elected as the United States President. The same goes for his wife, Melania Trump, who became the First Lady after her husband won the 2016 Presidential Election.

With that in mind, three joint addresses were already given to Congress. However, none of these major speeches where the President mentioned his wife's works.

According to Politico, an analysis of Trump's previous speeches was done recently. Based on the results, there is one huge thing that is common among the three, and that is the fact that he never included any of Melania's initiatives.

The publication noted that in past administrations, the US Presidents almost always ensured to include the East Wing's efforts. Starting from Bill Clinton, who told the story of Richard Anderson in his 1994 State of the Union address, he included this narrative to serve as a "nod" to his wife, Hilary Clinton's works on health care reform.

It was also revealed how George W. Bush shared his wife, Laura's plan to "devote" her time to "promote literacy" and "sound teaching practices" in the United States. The same thing also happened with Michelle Obama as Barack Obama announced his wife's, and the East Wing's initiative over childhood obesity.

After these iconic "shoutouts" to the First Ladies, the public never heard of it again. Unfortunately, Donald Trump seemingly focused on himself and his works in every speech that he gave for the last three years.

As per Raw Story, though, the incumbent US President "likely" has his own reasons why he never mentions Melania Trump's works, especially her "Be Best" campaign. This was said to tackle the issues surrounding, mainly, bullying.

But, reports were concluding that the President's aides might be the reason behind this dynamic. The "omission is deliberate," as suggested. The probable reason behind this is that Donald Trump's aides might be protecting him from "getting mocked."

It was explained that his speechwriters likely know that Trump talking about Melania's anti-bullying campaign is "ironic" at its best. You do not want your audience "laughing" in the middle of a State of the Union address, an expert added.

Despite all the speculations, some reports revealed that a source close to the First Lady attested that it is not impossible for Melania Trump to suggest to her husband to leave her and her work out of his speeches. She is a "private person." So, it is not "surprising" if she asks Donald Trump to focus more on "pressing matters," the source concluded.

In the end, however, no comments from the White House were made about the matter.
