Andre Iguodala is raring to go, and finally, seeing action this 2019-20 NBA season could be happening in a couple of weeks. Of course, most are awaiting a much-expected buyout, although the Memphis Grizzlies feel that a trade can still be made.

Most teams require a 3-and-D player with Iguodala, notably one of the best guys to fill up that hole. But the thing here is that the 36-year-old owns a hefty contract that most teams are avoiding. A buyout would be a cheaper option, although several teams are likely to engage in a tight race for the services of the three-time champion.

One team that some executives feel could be other NBA teams to the gun is the Dallas Mavericks. According to Tim McMahon of ESPN, the Mavs could offer Courtney Lee and a 2020 second-round pick that they ironically acquired from Iguodala's previous team - the Golden State Warriors. Dallas has refuted the claim, although anything can still happen.

Iguodala has yet to play a single game this NBA season. However, that is bound to change after Feb. 6, especially if Memphis finally decides to buy him out. Iguodala is owed $17.1 million this season before hitting the free-agent market this summer per Spotrac.

Despite the long layoff, the 6-foot-6 swingman claims he is in tip-top shape. The time off has proven beneficial for him, getting the rest he needed after a strenuous five-year NBA Finals run. The 2015 NBA Finals MVP owns career averages of 12.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

But his value goes beyond his production, known to be a hustle player and someone who can defend elite players. That includes LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, someone other players find difficult to check.

Iguodala is on the radar of the Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. With all signs pointing to him likely staying in the highly-competitive Western Conference, the Mavericks would not be a bad stop. Dallas currently sits at the sixth spot with a 29-18 win-loss card. Further, the 9th overall pick of the 2004 NBA Draft could be a good influence on young stars like Luka Doncic or Kristaps Porzingis.

Finally, it should also be considered that Iguodala's next team will just be a stopover. He is believed to be on his way back to Golden State, something that could materialize this summer. At his age, Iguodala could opt for retirement at some point. And there is no better place to do that than in Dub City where has made big strides.
