But, it appears that a new rival in the form of GMC Hummer EV is going to challenge Tesla's all-electric pickup truck.

Rumors of an all-electric version of Hummer started online a few days ago, and auto enthusiasts started pitting it with the Tesla Cybertruck. Now, the official Twitter account of GMC teases about a new GMC Hummer EV. The post claims that the upcoming vehicle offers zero-emission and has no limits.

GMC Hummer EV Specs And Features

The date on the recent tweet of GMC is believed to be the grand launch of the GMC Hummer EV. May 20 is the schedule of the Super Bowl, which presumably is the event where the upcoming electric truck from GMC would debut. Ahead of its official reveal, GMC is now sharing some of its impressive specs and features.

According to the company, the all-electric pickup truck could produce 1,000 horsepower. It could also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds. Moreover, the company claims that the GMC Hummer EV is capable of producing 11,500 pound-feet of torque.

The Super Bowl teaser gives us a closer look at the upcoming GMC Hummer EV. On its front end is the grille, which, as seen in the ad, lights up. Another notable feature shown in the as is the three orange marker lights, a requisite in vehicles with more than 80 inches width.

GMC Hummer EV Rivals

Since the GMC Hummer EV is an all-electric pickup truck, it is easy for auto enthusiasts to compare it with the Tesla Cybertruck. But, it is not only the Cybertruck that the Hummer EV would go against. Other rivals include the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 electric pickup truck, and Bollinger S2, to name a few.

The GMC Hummer EV would arrive sometime in the fall of 2021. The Tesla Cybertruck is also scheduled to release the first set of its all-electric pickup truck in the same year. Rivian is also planning to release the Rivian R1T in the late part of 2020 or early part of 2021.
