Meghan Markle was first married to Trevor Engelson before she tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. The estranged couple was together for almost a decade. Although they were only both starting their career at the time, rumors have it Trevor almost ruined his career because of his wrongdoing.

The Duchess of Sussex met the Hollywood talent agent and producer in 2004. At the time, he was only 28 years old and already had his own production company, Underground. The former star, on the other hand, was a 23-year-old struggling actress who had minimal roles in a few films and television shows.

When they met, Trevor Engelson was already on his way up. However, it seemed he ruined his career because of his too much ambition, per Express.

In Andrew Morton's 2018 book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, the royal biographer revealed Trevor Engelson's being "passionate, driven, and ambitious" were the qualities that attracted the former Suits star. However, this ambition almost put a stop to his career when he stepped too far.

When the New Yorker decided he wanted to produce films, Alan Richie advised him to be a talent agent first. The latter gave him a job at Endeavour, where Trevor Engelson started to deliver scripts. Thanks to his hard work, he quickly climbed the ladder of success and became Chris Donnelly's assistant.

"He was on the fast track to higher things; then, his ruthless ambition got in the way," Morton said. When Donnelly was on holiday, Trevor Engelson gave "uncommissioned scripts" to actors and directors, using Endeavour letterhead.

He believed he was only a "self-starter," but Donnelly didn't think the same. Hence, he was sacked for overstepping his remit, although they were no hard feelings between them. From here, Trevor Engelson became Nick Osborne's assistant at OZ Films. Later, they formed their own company, Underground.

Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson got married in September 2011 in Jamaica but parted ways 18 months later. They received a no-fault divorce in August 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.

They then went on to remarry, Meghan Markle to Prince Harry and Trevor Engelson to Tracey Kurland, a known dietician, and a Californian heiress. Despite the time that the ex-couple spent with each other, Trevor chose to be mum about the issue that Meghan got involved in.

Business Times recently reported that Trevor Engelson refused to comment about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal exit when he was recently spotted at a hair salon in Beverly Hills. "You have a good day," he told the reporter who asked for his opinion. He then went on his way, riding his Porsche 911.
