Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now seemingly enjoying the new chapter of their lives in Canada. After the controversial royal exit, which was concluded a few weeks ago, nothing much has been heard since then from the Sussex couple.

Despite their silence over the developing narrative about the Megxit controversy, the Duke and Duchess have remained the center of many headlines these days. But, among all the reports, the interest over their decision to quit the royal life is, by far, the most apparent of all. As it appears, many are still left in the dark as to why they decided to step down as senior royals and live a "financially independent" life.

According to Cheat Sheet, there are a few individuals who spoke about the matter. It was said that these people, somehow, understand where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are coming from.

In her most recent interview, American-born and now-Viscountess, Julie Montagu reportedly shared how she understands why the Duchess wanted to quit being royal and return to Canada. She explained that her current situation is very similar to Meghan Markle's life in the last two years.

As reported, Julie Montagu left her life in Illinois almost two decades ago after marrying Luke, who is now the next in line to become the Earl of Sandwich. She stated that, as an American, it is very challenging to move far away from the place where you grew up, which is also where you are told that you can do whatever you want to do, and be whatever you want to be. "I can attest to that," she explained.

So, the stricture and "loss of freedom" on Meghan Markle's part upon marrying Prince Harry are likely the main contributing factors to their royal exit. It can be "suffocating" as an American, she added.

Express UK, on the other hand, revealed that some sources take the decision to quit the royal life is not only consummated by Meghan's choice. As explained by the publication, Prince Harry has something to do as well with it.

The claims came after Nacho Figueras, who is one of the Duke's close friends, said in an interview with Good Morning America that he recently spoke with the royal-born prince. Based on his assertions, he reportedly believes that his friend "has suffered a lot" from everything that has happened to him.

Accordingly, the thoughts of protecting his wife and his child are just fitting, by means of stepping down and moving out, since he does not certainly want them to experience the same things he experienced in his life. He then shared that the Duke has always wanted to "lead a normal life."
