Jin is meant to be a performer. In fact, it is hard to imagine BTS without Mr. Worldwide Handsome.
However, Jin never dreamed of becoming a K-pop star. The BTS singer majored in the Department of Film and Visual Arts and majored in Film and Acting and gained a Bachelor's Degree in it. So although he had his eyes on the entertainment world, being a singer and dancer was not a part of his plan.
With a background in acting, Jin’s role model was an actor. Kim Nam Gil is best known for his leading roles in “Pandora,” “The Shameless,” “The Pirates,” ”Portrait of a Beauty,” and the crime-comedy television drama “The Fiery Priest,” and he is Jin's idol.
Now, the tables have turned and it’s Kim Nam Gil who seems to be a fan of Jin. When the 38-year-old actor, producer, singer, and philanthropist graced the SBS radio station for his interview on Park Sun Young’s Cine Town, he shared that he was disappointed that he didn’t get to meet Jin when he presented at the 34th Golden Disc Awards.
Kim Nam Gil said that he heard about Jin’s previous interviews mentioning that he was his role model. And because of this, he wanted to meet the BTS star.
“Now, he’s a bigger star than I am,” Kim Nam Gil said. “But from what I’ve read from an interview, he apparently went to college for acting after watching me act. So I’ve been interested in him since then. I’ve been keeping my eyes on him, kind of.”
The DJ then gave him the opportunity to give a shout out to Jin on air. Kim Nam Gil gladly took the chance saying, “Hey Jin! I hope we can hang out soon. Please give me a call!”
Naming Kim Nam Gil as one of his role models only confirms the fact that Jin always had an interest in acting. When BTS was given a task in some episodes of Run BTS! to act on camera, Jin was always one of the members who excel in it.
While Jin gives way to V as the “actor” of the group, he most definitely won’t give up one title — as the visual of BTS. People all around the world are in awe of Jin’s undeniable good looks, but you don’t need to remind him as he already knows it.
Jin previously shared that calling himself handsome is a part of his morning routine. Now, the BTS star secured his “Worldwide Handsome” status by winning the top spot of “Best Sculpted Face in the World.”
