The demand for tablets has spiraled the past years with laptops getting smaller and some mobile phones sufficing. Regardless, there are still some available in the market, with most trying to secure sales through lower prices.

However, those vendors do not include Apple. Despite the declining demand for tablets, the Cupertino company continues to hold on to their own with their line of tablet offerings. Their latest is the iPad Pro, something that is still in demand despite a plummeting tablet market.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) reported a slight reprieve for tablet manufacturers last year. It showed a slight improvement in the last quarter of 2019, which could be attributed to the sales brought about by the Holidays. In all, however, the overall demand for tablets in 2019 reportedly went on a decline of 1.5-percent according to IDC. Though smaller compared to previous declines, critics believe that the downward trend will continue.

Regardless of what the future holds, Apple remains a top choice. Rival vendors such as Amazon's Fire tablets claim to have positive results, but most of these are believed to be because of the holiday shopping season. Pricing has been their secret, but even that may not be enough to convince customers to get the latest tablet available.

Regardless, tablets remain in circulation but probably for limited reasons. Mobile phones have come out with a bigger screen, but nothing beats the display size of tablets. Tablets are better for reading or even watching videos, not to mention playing mobile games, Laptopmag.com suggested. For those into creative design or drawing, a tablet remains feasible to use. But how many modern consumers would invest in one could pale when getting an actual desktop.

There are still several companies trying to stay abreast with Apple. That list includes Samsung, Huawei, Amazon, and Lenovo. But there is no doubt that iPads remain the reliable choice. In fact, most are now eager to see the next iPads on Apple's end.

Apple is likely to introduce its new iPads by the spring as it normally does. But the question now is which will be out in the next couple of months. The last one to be introduced was the entry-level iPad back in September 2019. There is a chance that an advanced variant would come out unless the Cupertino company plans to hold off.

Trimming down the possibilities, an iPad Air or an iPad Pro could be coming. The iPad Mini was recently updated, meaning these are two devices that are due for something new, Forbes.com reported. Could it happen this March?
