It might still be a while before BIGBANG stages its comeback but netizens have agreed that they are The Greatest Kpop Artist of the Decade 2010s, based on the results of a survey conducted by King Choice.

According to a report by All Kpop, BIGBANG took first place with 1,514,2867 votes while BTS placed second with 1, 175,611 votes.

BIGBANG, which is one of the groups that ushered in the second Hallyu wave in the globe posted 18 No. 1 songs and charted 51 straights weeks on top of the Melon Music Chart. They were also ranked by Forbes Korea as one of the most powerful celebrities in South Korea in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016. They also entered the Forbes' Celebrity 100 and 30 Under 30 List of Most Influential Celebrities in the World.

The group made up of G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri sold over 150 million records in the world before they went on hiatus in 2017 as its first member T.O.P enlisted in the military.

Last year, four members including T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung completed their 21-month mandatory service, to the delight of the group's VIP fandom. Unfortunately, Seungri announced last year that he was retiring from the entertainment industry after he was embroiled in the Burning Sun scandal for which he was recently indicted by the prosecution.

Meanwhile, Korean-American rapper and singer Jay Park also recently posted a tweet that grew viral on social media. According to the artist, he believed that BIGBANG might be the greatest boyband in Kpop history.

"They got everything, talent, character, stage presence, bops, and adversity," Jay Park tweeted.

His tweet immediately drew the attention of BIGBANG fans worldwide who thanked the artist for appreciating the impact made by the Kpop idol group to the Korean entertainment industry.

However, there were also those who challenged his opinion and asked him to prove his claims that BIGBANG was indeed the greatest Kpop group for all time. They called attention to the scandals that BIGBANG members T.O.P, Seungri and Daesung recently became involved in.

However, VIPs rose to BIGBANG's defense and said that the scandals had nothing to do with the contributions made by the group to the Kpop industry as a whole, Kpopstarz reported.

BIGBANG is expected to make its comeback in this year's Coachella Music Festival. This is the first time that G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, and Daesung will take the stage again after more than two years in hiatus.
