Prince William and Kate Middleton went to Mumbles in South Wales on Tuesday and visited a couple of landmarks, including an RNLI lifeboat station, a Tata Steel Plant, and an ice cream parlor. Fans of all ages greeted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they tour around the area.
The couple went to Joe’s ice cream parlor to enjoy some ice cream and chat with parents and their kids about Kate Middleton’s new nationwide survey “5 Big Questions on the Under Fives." The survey, which was launched last month, aimed to increase understanding and awareness about early years education and intervention and to kickstart a “UK–wide conversation on raising the next generation” as well.
Kate Middleton looked very chic in her Hobbs long navy coat, Beulah red and white scarf, and Zara maxi dress. However, one young fan was not that impressed with her outfit.
According to one mom present at the ice cream parlor, her daughter had an adorable exchange with Kate Middleton. Rhian Costello shared that young Annabel was disappointed that the Duchess of Sussex was not wearing a princess dress.
”I said to her (Kate) that Annabel was really excited to meet a real princess,” Rhian Costello said. “And [Kate] said, ‘I’m sorry I’m not wearing a pretty dress today.’ Annabel then said that she thought she’d look like Cinderella.”
While her daughter may have been quite disappointed with Kate Middleton, Rhian Costello had nothing but praises for the Duchess. She said that Prince William’s wife was “very, very natural and lovely and sweet with the children.”
Meanwhile, just because Kate Middleton has a royal title now, doesn’t mean that she already forgot where she came from. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge still posses the simplicity that most commoners have.
Although Kate Middleton looks like a real princess when she attends formal events in her stunning dresses, the Duchess of Cambridge looks just like anyone else on some occasions. Despite her model-like height and physique, Prince William’s wife would usually choose a more casual and comfortable outfit.
Kate Middleton is also known for recycling her outfits, which is considered a fashion suicide in Hollywood. Although the Duchess of Cambridge is certainly not a part of Tinseltown, her popularity made her a celebrity and a fashion icon, and her choice of repeating her clothes is such a breath of fresh air.
