Prince William is, reportedly, feeling much relief now that his brother and sister-in-law, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, moved to Canada. An insider, however, claimed that the brothers did not end up on good terms as Prince Harry flew to their new home and rejoined his wife and child in mid-January.
The source told People that Prince Harry flew out of London with unresolved issues with his brother. However, both felt quite relieved as the negotiations of Prince Harry's new life in Canada is finally done and over.
After their decision to step back from their royal roles, the Queen granted Prince Harry and Meghan the permission to spend half their time in the Commonwealth country. However, it took almost two weeks for this resolution to be finalized, which also involved Prince William.
In January, Queen Elizabeth asked Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry to come up with a workable solution to Prince Harry and Meghan's requests. The Sussex pair said that, aside from giving up their royal roles, they would also want to become financially independent. They asked to be released from the Sovereign Grant that funds a part of their lifestyle and official duties.
Receiving money from the public funds opened up the royals to public scrutiny. The British tabloid press was mostly critical of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, especially of the Duchess of Sussex.
Furthermore, reports stated that Prince William and Prince Harry have been feuding over the latter's quick decision to marry his then-girlfriend. The Duke of Sussex was dating Meghan, a divorced American TV actress, for less than 18 months when they announced their engagement in November 2017.
Prince William told Prince Harry that his relationship with Meghan was moving too fast. While his big brother meant well, this apparently created tension between them.
But, sources told The Sun that, contrary to the People statement, the brothers were able to bury the hatchet during their talks with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. Apparently, Prince William and Prince Harry spent a few private times outside of the Sandringham summit to discuss their relationship and future roles. Insiders said that they have agreed to directly discuss issues with each other and not course this to the toxic people around them.
People also reported that, despite their distance, Prince William and Prince Harry are trying to repair their relationship. The two princes are said to be in constant communication over the phone since Prince Harry left for Canada.
