Several coronavirus patients have been discharged from the hospital following treatments, and just recently, the Philippines reported its first recovered patient.

Patient in the Philippines Recovers

According to The Guardian, the Philippine health authority said the last test on the Chinese woman who traveled with another man from Wuhan has tested negative of the novel virus. The said man unfortunately passed away from the disease.

The last test carried out on the 38-year-old woman was carried out on February 6 and health authorities are looking at the possibility that that she will be discharged from the hospital sometime soon.

The Philippine government has repeatedly warned against spreading fake news through social media as there have been false reports on different platforms regarding the extent of infection in the country.

Director of the University of the Philippines' Institute of Molecular Biology Dr. Ed Salvana noted that the recovery of the tourist from Wuhan "shows the novel coronavirus is not uniformly fatal and that is recovery is more likely" than death.

Malaysia Confirms Third Patient Recovery

In Malaysia, another patient has recovered completely from the Wuhan coronavirus after repeated test results found the Chinese man negative of the new coronavirus strain.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said on Sunday that the patient was provided with treatments for symptoms and that no antiviral drugs were given to the patient, local news site The Star reported.

The 63-year-old man was treated at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) and his recovery marks the third case in Malaysia where a patient showed full recovery signs after repeated tests.

Singapore Confirms Four Recovered Cases

Singapore also confirmed a total of four recovered patients as of Sunday. While the infected cases have also gone up to 43, the recovery of some patients has brought hope to others who are still being monitored for potential infection.

According to the Straits Times, among those who were discharged from the hospital was a man from Wuhan who arrived in the city-state on January 20 and since his arrival has been living on a cargo vessel before he was screened and suspected of having been infected with the coronavirus.

Another discharged patient is a woman from Wuhan who had close contact with one of the confirmed 2019-nCoV patients. She is the second person in Singapore to have recovered from the novel virus.

Returnees to Thailand Recover

Four people who returned to Thailand from Wuhan have since recovered after they showed symptoms of fever. The Thai returnees were admitted to the Queen Sirikit Hospital in Chon Buri Province due to several symptoms, including cough.

According to the Bangkok Post, initial tests did not find the Wuhan coronavirus on the results but one of the patients showed a lung disorder that will be examined and monitored by health providers.

Overall, Thailand has 25 confirmed coronavirus cases, while patients under investigation (PUIs) have reached 595. Nine patients have since been discharged after recovery.

Wisconsin Patient Making 'Good Recovery'

Outside Asia, a patient in Wisconsin is "making a very good recovery," health officials in the U.S. state revealed. The said patient is currently recovering at home after having contracted the Wuhan coronavirus while on vacation in China.

NBC affiliate KARE reported that the recovering patient is the first confirmed case in Wisconsin. Health officials noted that the possibility of the patient infecting the general public is low at this point.

The Wisconsin man is also the 12th confirmed coronavirus case in the whole of the United States.

China Discharges Over 3,000 Patients

Meanwhile in China, a total of 3,281 patients have been discharged from Chinese hospitals as of Sunday evening, health authorities in the country confirmed on Monday.

According to Xinhua, the National Health Commission said Sunday saw a mass discharge of patients from Hubei province, with 365 patients leaving hospitals. The total toll of discharged patients in China reached 632 on Sunday.

The death toll sits at 908 in China but hopes are high as medical experts and drug researchers continue to find a cure or effective treatment that would keep the number of infections from rising.
