In recent days, the unthinkable happened in Barcelona. The Spanish giants' superstar Lionel Messi did engage the club's sporting director Eric Abidal in a very public spat, and the episode gave birth to the wild speculations that the Argentine wants out of Camp Nou. If Messi will exit from Spain, where is, he headed next?
After 19 years of wearing the Barca uniform, it seems hard to imagine that Messi will yearn for a different setting and perhaps take on a new challenge. But according to Brazil's football legend Kaka, Messi playing in a different league is not impossible. If anything, a switch will bring the 32-year-old forward to a major competition outside of Spanish football.
According to Bleacher Report, Kaka can see Messi suiting for a different club and his exit from Barcelona will take the same pattern of Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Real Madrid. The Argentine will want to fulfill his desire to prove something, and with a new club, as Ronaldo did, Kaka said.
"It's not going to be a problem for him in the Premier League or a top club in the top three leagues in the world," the Brazilian legend was reported as saying.
Kaka added that Messi transferring out of La Liga would also mean interested clubs don't expect to get the superstar cheap. To date, the attacker has been linked with English clubs that have access to big money like Manchester United and Manchester City.
In reality, however, only a few of the richest clubs in Europe have the wherewithal to make the strongest bid on Messi. That would mean Messi's next possible destination can be whittled down to Paris Saint-Germain in France and Juventus in Italy.
Now the prospect of the Barca star teaming up with Ronaldo in Turin appears scintillating, but making it happen is not too simple, according to CCN.
It seems a mind-boggling scenario - Messi, and Ronaldo on the same team - but the tandem could prove problematic for Juventus. In all likelihood, the Italian club will find it hard to manage two football superstars.
"Despite fans losing their minds of the chance of Lionel Messi and Ronaldo in the same team, both players huge egos wouldn't allow it," the report said.
With Messi and Ronaldo in the same dugout, Juventus will need to deal with too many complications like who gets the most attention and who earns more. To be sure, none of the two would be willing to play a lesser role after years of being pampered as superstars and getting used to getting all the attention.
"As much as football fans would love to see this combination happen, it would just be too much for one club and one dressing room to handle," added the report.
