Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's only daughter, Princess Anne has reportedly remained her distance from the spotlight since her teenage years. Unlike her brothers, especially Prince Charles, it was said that she likes to keep her and her family's life private and far from the media scrutiny.
Despite the lack of appearance on various media forms, the Princess Royal has done a lot of things for the British Monarchy. She was even repeatedly praised for all her works since then.
But, in recent weeks, the Queen's daughter's name has been present in various headlines. After the conclusion of the Megxit deal, it was revealed that she will replace Prince Harry in one of his chief military roles.
According to The Sunday Times, Princess Anne will take the Duke of Sussex's role as the Captain-General of the Royal Marines. This is a military role that was held by Prince Philip for 64 years.
After the Duke of Edinburgh's retirement in 2017, he was succeeded by Prince Harry. But, now that he and Meghan Markle has stepped down as senior members of British Royal Family, part of the deal of their royal exit is the stripping off of his military roles.
Based on claims, Prince Philip was more than happy for Princess Anne to take the role that he held for many decades. While the official ceremony will take place once the Megxit deal takes in effect in April, the Princess Royal is already preparing for her new role in the Royal Marines.
As revealed by Daily Mail UK, it is not surprising that the chief military role has been passed on to the Queen's daughter. The reason being is that she is already "associated" with 65 military organizations today. Not to mention, she is also the Chief Commandant for Women in the Royal Navy.
It was also noted by the reports that Princess Anne will make "royal history" once she officially takes the position "in due course." This is because she will be the first female royal to serve as the Captain-General of the Royal Marines.
As for the other military roles that Prince Harry held before his exit, little is known yet as to what will happen. Even so, many are certain that things surrounding the Sussex couple's exit will further cleared out once the deal becomes effective.
On another note, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently staying in their temporary home in Canada. It is believed that they will return to the United Kingdom next month as Queen Elizabeth II reportedly invited the family for the Commonwealth Day, which will also serve as their final series of royal engagements.
