Prince William and Kate Middleton's kids all have their royal titles, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. It is only quite fitting as they are the children of the future King and Queen Consort of the British Monarchy.

However, this is not the only reason why they have their titles. As it happens, there is another royal protocol, in terms of passing royal titles to offsprings, which also applies to all members of the Royal Family.

According to Express UK, Princess Charlotte's future kids would not have royal titles, unlike Prince George's and Prince Louis' future children. The same case has been seen on Princess Margaret's and Princess Anne's kids.

The reason being is that all royal titles are only passed on through sons of the monarch, and not daughters. This is why all kids of Prince Charles and Prince Andrew are called Princes and Princesses.

The case was a little different for Prince Edward and Countess Sophie's children. It was revealed that they personally preferred to have their kids without their HRH titles. Even so, Lady Louise and Viscount James were believed to be given "courtesy titles" by Queen Elizabeth II, hence, their names today.

As per Reader's Digest, all royal protocols, especially the ones involving royal titles, are quite confusing for everyone, excluding the members of the Royal Family. But, despite the confusion, it was cleared out that while Prince George's kids, whether sons or daughters, they will all receive the titles of Princes and Princesses. The same is also true for Prince Louis'.

However, since Princess Charlotte is "a daughter" of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, her future kids will not have any royal titles. Nevertheless, many are convinced that "courtesy titles" may be offered to her kids when the right time comes.

This was what happened in the case of Princess Anne's children. As noted by Town and Country, the Princess Royal's children were reportedly offered with royal titles by the Queen herself.

But, the Queen's daughter, as well as her husband, Captain Phillips, "declined" the offer as they wanted for their kids to have a much simpler and more private life. This is why Zara and Peter Phillips have remained non-titled royals until today.

While the confusion regarding the titles of the royals, as well as their future kids, have remained apparent, it is worth noting that Princess Charlotte is still a 6-year-old kid, who just recently entered her primary school. So, it will still be a long way before she gets kids of her own, and things will definitely further change in the future, including the royal protocols.
