Brad Pitt has started in 2020 in a great state. Aside from sweeping acting awards, the actor is reportedly mending fences with his eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt.

Brad and Maddox had a falling out in 2016 following the alleged altercation between them on a flight and the subsequent divorce of the actor and Angelina Jolie. Pitt shared six children with Jolie: Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

It has been reported that Brad and Maddox had spent quality time together recently and it ended up well for both of them. It was speculated that Pitt missed the recent BAFTA in London where he won the Best Supporting Actor award so he could hang out with his eldest son.

Pitt's co-star in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, Margot Robbie, took the award on his behalf and read out his acceptance speech. The actress started the speech by saying Brad couldn't make it that night because he needs to attend to some "family obligations."

The Sun reported that the Ad Astra actor originally planned to attend BAFTA but decided at the last minute to stay in Los Angeles to meet up with Maddox. Apparently, the 18-year-old teen is back in LA while on school break. Maddox is currently attending college at a prestigious university in South Korea.

The outlet's source claimed Pitt has talked to Jolie about visiting their son in Seoul. The Maleficent actress has been reportedly trying to bring the father and son close together again. The insider said the relationship between the two had improved a lot because of Jolie.

"So Brad prioritized things and stayed in town to see him. And he's glad he did. In the end, Maddox finally forgave his dad," the source said.

It can be recalled that Maddox sparked controversy last year when he answered a paparazzi's question about his relationship with his father. He was asked whether or not Brad would be visiting him in Seoul. At the time, Pitt was in Japan to promote his movie, Ad Astra.

"Um, I don't know about that... what's happening. Whatever happens, happens," he replied to the paparazzi.

Now, it seems like Brad and Maddox are in a good place in their relationship. It can also be noticed that when Brad accepted his awards at the recent 2020 Oscars, he was beaming with pride as he dedicated the award to his children. In his speech, the Moneyball actor said his six children gave meaning to everything that he does.

After the ceremony, the actor was also asked how he would feel if one of his children would follow his footsteps as an actor. Brad said he wants his kids to follow their passion and assured that whatever it is, he will always be there to guide them.
