Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit are now taking its toll on Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Cambridges are said to have more royal duties, and they already started when they joined Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles' visit at Standford Hall. Dubbed as the new Fab Four now that the Sussexes are out, it seemed like their recent activity was a subtle nod to the Duke of Sussex.
The royal couples went to the Defense Medical Rehabilitation Center and met the military personnel recovering from their battle injuries. Knowing that Prince Harry was in the army for ten years and even ranked as a captain, this activity alone seemed to be heartbreaking for him.
According to Express¸ Prince Harry was in his happiest when he served the military. An alleged fellow soldier reportedly said that he got the best of both worlds with this honor as he could fly helicopters and put a spotlight on the work that he did.
He even set up the Invictus Games in 2014 to help injured soldiers continue their sports. Sadly, former First Sea Lord, Lord West of Spithead, told The Telegraph that the next time Prince Harry would be at a military event, he would be no longer wearing military uniform. "It is very unfortunate. It is very sad to be losing him from the military," he said.
At the engagement, Prince William and Kate Middleton showed a united front with Prince Charles and Camilla. Although the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were all smiles, insiders revealed they felt pressured after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left.
The two royals' royal responsibilities are now on Prince William and Kate Middleton as they have to do more royal duties this year. A royal source even said that Kate is "facing strain" amidst the royal exit.
"Meghan leaving the fold has put a tremendous amount of pressure on Kate's shoulders," the insider told New Magazine. Kate Middleton has a family and three young children.
She is already taking several royal engagements a year, but she now has to add more. The source added that although she is willing to do the heavy lifting and take on extra work, she feels like she is already doing a lot.
With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit, she feels like she is trying to do it all, from consoling her husband, looking after their kids, taking on more work to smoothing things out. The pressure is now on Kate Middleton with everything that she does, but she always tries to put on a brave face.
