Princess Anne is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. But, she is far from what people expected of her.

Being the only Princess to the main royal bloodline, many people thought of her as a sweet and gentle royal. However, it was claimed that she is the most "difficult" royal to work with since then.

According to Express UK, royal reporters and photographers have a lot of "brutal nicknames" for her. Former royal correspondent, Harry Arnold shared that the Princess Royal "earned" these nicknames due to her attitude.

Some of these include "sourpuss," "misery," and "misery-face." It was also revealed that she was even deemed to be the "worst of the Germans" and the "most hated royal."

Despite the nicknames, though, the former royal reporter from The Sun UK stated that Princess Anne did not deserve any of these names. Besides, she never cared at all, he added.

It was explained, however, why the royal was described as "difficult." As it happened, the Queen's daughter was said to always "naff-off" reporters and photographers. She was also perceived as "sulky" and "bad-tempered," especially when the press and media were present.

The publication noted that the Princess Royal was likely portraying these traits because she does not want some aspects of her life to be "viewed" and scrutinized by the public. These aspects of her life were said to have largely involved her equestrian competitions and her relationships.

Things did change, however, many years after. As shared by another former royal reporter, James Whitaker, the media changed the image of Princess Anne amid the royal tour of Africa in 1982, wherein she collaborated with Save The Children.

It was claimed that the Princess was doing a lot of good things during the tour. So, despite their dislike toward the Queen's daughter, the reporters during that time were said to write "positive pieces" of her.

This change of image by the press was even called the "magical transformation" of Princess Anne. Even so, it was noted that the Princess did not mind whether good or bad things were written about her. All she was focused on is the fact that the charities were benefiting from the positive image that the press built around her, the reports added.

In the end, while she was called a lot of names for her attitude and character, many people still saw the good side of her, especially when the work was for charities.
