The final episode of tvN's Crash Landing on You successfully broke the long time finale rating reign of another tvN drama, Goblin, three years after it posted the highest rating on cable television.

According to a report by Soompi, the Crash Landing on You final episode scored an average national rating of 21.683 percent which peaked at 24.1 percent. Goblin, which aired in 2017, peaked at 20.5 percent during its finale. In the Seoul Metropolitan Area, Crash Landing on You rated even higher as it scored an average viewership rating of 23.249b percent for its final episode. This came as no surprise that the drama reached its peak for its finale because of its steadily soaring ratings in the previous weeks.

According to netizens and viewers, among the main draws of the Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin starrer was the strong chemistry between the two lead stars that was evident during the series' run. Behind the scenes, videos released by tVn also showed the stars' sweetness with each other, leading fans to ship the two actors in real life.

Also, an asset to the overall success of the drama was the strong support cast made up of members of Captain Ri's company and the village wives, who provided comic relief and laughter when the situation was the direst.

The different family dynamics that Ri Jung Hyuk and Yoon Se Ri's families have are also among the strengths of the series as both Seri and Jung Ryuk's family members provide an equal amount of tension and laughter to the table with their circumstances.

Fans were also treated to a bevy of cameos and parodies from some of Korea's biggest stars like Choi Ji Woo, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, Na Young Hee, Kim Sook. Meanwhile, as the dramas soared in the ratings, its OST also dominated real-time music charts in Korea.

According to a report, IU's song I Gave You My Heart, a late addition to the Crash Landing on You OST, topped the chart on February 15, a day ahead of the finale release. In less than three hours of release, IU's song took over the No. 1 position on Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Soribada. It is also steadily climbing the chart on Flo's real-time chart but remained in the Top 5.

Like the cameos in Crash Landing on You, IU's participation in the OST is her first official OST release in nine years. Her song for Hotel del Luna was not officially included in the drama's OST.
