Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently let all 15 members of their UK staff go after they announced last month that they will be stepping down as senior royals. The couple's newly appointed private secretary Fiona Mcilwham, communications chief Sara Latham, Prince Harry’s program co-ordinator Clara Loughran, and assistant communications secretary Marnie Gaffney are few of those who are believed to have been let go by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However, a report revealed that some staff wants to continue serving the couple because of their love for Prince Harry. But Meghan Markle reportedly told them that they are “moving on.”
“It seems the final nail has been hammered in the separation of Prince Harry and his family thanks to the dismissals of their 15 staff members from the royal household who have been told they are ‘no longer required,’” UK-based broadcaster Neil Sean said. “I have been told quite a few staff members had hoped or offered to transfer over to Canada to continue a working relationship [because of] the fact they all loved [her husband] Prince Harry and working for him.”
Neil Sean said that Meghan Markle is the one “running the show” and not Prince Harry. He even said that the former actress is “taking away any responsibility” from the Duke of Sussex.
“Another royal mole tells me, ‘So much for keeping ties to Britain,’” he claimed. “With this, they have effectively stated they have moved on and are not coming back long term, which is a shock not just for the staff but also for the queen who believed them when they said they wanted to keep an active role within the royal family. A senior advisor told me, “She is playing a very dangerous game as the royal family will only take so much.”
Biographer David Jones previously said that Meghan Markle is to be blamed for Prince Harry’s shocking decision. He added that the former actress is a headstrong woman who rules over the Duke of Sussex. He revealed that some of the couple’s friends believe that she is the instigator of their announcement.
“‘With Meghan, it has always been her way or the highway,” one of Meghan Markle’s oldest confidants allegedly told David Jones. “‘She is always the center of the relationship, regardless of Harry's title. She wants to be in the limelight, but under her own terms. Now she will get to make her own rules. It's perfect for her. She is running a campaign. This is not just an exit. It is a long-game strategy that has been set in motion for some time.’”
