Prince Harry's departure from the royal family might have devastated his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William. A royal expert, however, claims that the exit brought an unexpected good thing as it made Prince Charles and Prince William closer to each other.

According to royal commentator Ingrid Seward, Prince Charles and Prince William have been putting up a united front together since Prince Harry left to be based in North America. More recently, the father and son made a rare joint visit to Leicestershire with their wives, Camilla and Kate, the Duchesses of Cornwall and Cambridge.

Seward said that the recent royal engagement in Leicestershire proved that Prince Charles and Prince William are closer than ever today because they have something to talk about in their lives without Prince Harry. The heir to the throne is also showing a lot of support for his first-born son.

The royal commentator believes that Prince Charles is quite encouraged to focus on his eldest son because he lost Prince Harry. The Prince of Wales is making real efforts "to pencil in time for William."

The visit to Leicestershire showed a classic moment between father and son as they gamely played a game of basketball. Prince Charles was poking fun at Prince William, who missed quite a few hoops before he finally scored a basket on his sixth attempt.

That playful moment was caught on camera and seen by thousands of royal fans on social media. It also highlighted how Prince Charles and William have the same sense of humor.

In the background, Kate was giggling next to Camilla as they watched their husbands goof around. It was another unexpected moment that showed the public the royal family in their most pleasant moments.

Meanwhile, it was Seward who also said that Queen Elizabeth has been "banking" on Prince William and Kate to help her overcome a horrible year for the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have since been doing their best to see through several royal engagements in the first two months of the year alone.

In the coming months, Prince William and Kate are also set to travel to Ireland and Australia. Sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said that they are ready and willing to take on more responsibilities as this will give them more opportunities to help and become more prominent in their charitable endeavours.
