Most K-pop idols stay single especially when they’re at the peak of their careers. With BTS being the biggest boyband on the planet right now, it’s easy to see why the boys have not dated anyone for years.
However, it seems like J-Hope is ready to change that. The BTS star just celebrated his 26th birthday (27th in Korea) on February 18, and he may have been thinking about what he really wanted as Jung Hoseok, and not as J-Hope of BTS.
Before blowing his birthday candles, J-Hope made a wish that seemingly confirmed that he’s ready to be in a relationship. Probably thinking that he’s not getting any younger, J-Hope seems to long for a special someone in his life.
“My goal for this year is not something grand, but to be a precious person to someone,” J-Hope said. “As trivial as it might sound, it’s something amazing. Someone cherishing and adoring me. When there are many of them it’s extraordinary. The other way around, I want to treasure you all.”
Although the first few lines of J-Hope’s wish seemed to head towards him wanting to be in a romantic relationship with someone, he quickly changed the vibe in the last part of the message. The BTS star changed the singular into a plural by shifting the word “someone” to “all of you,” meaning the fans.
But despite the shift of words, a lot of fans knew what he really meant. ARMYs are very aware of how much the BTS boys love them and don’t want to hurt them. By saying that he wants to be in a relationship, J-Hope may be worried that he may hurt the fans, so he changed it up in the end. But ARMYs want nothing but happiness for J-Hope, so they assured him that he has their blessings if he wished to be in a relationship.
“Hobi said this year he wanna be precious to someone..... and by ‘someone’ he probably means someone special... yes hobi my baby go get your love... I am gonna support you no matter what.. his happiness equals mine,” one wrote. I really really hope hobi you get someone who actually loves you for being hoseok and not J-HOPE of BTS. Who truly and really loves you and gives you all the happiness in the world. And who is not after your money or fame but YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE!!” another one shared. “I'm all for it, get your person Hobi. We will always love you and support you,” one ARMY commented.
