By now, most have heard that the future of Cleveland Cavaliers head coach John Beilein is not looking good. In fact, most are expecting him to either step down or get the ax after the NBA All-Star break. That could happen soon.

Still, in the first year of his deal with the Cavs, it appears Beilein has lost the trust of management and players. Most know those remarks he made on the players, calling them thugs although he claimed it was supposed to be slugs. Those and more clearly show that he has been struggling to adapt to the pro brand of basketball, and such has led to axing speculations.

One player who may have shed more light on the matter is rising Cavaliers star, Collin Sexton. The 21-year-old gave his view on Beilein, singling out how his methods have not turned out well. Sexton emphasized how Beilein pays attention to detail and how he wants players to play at the top of their game. Unfortunately, what the former Michigan Wolverines coach failed to realize is that he is handling players who need to play like that for 82 games a year, Forbes reported.

“He loves details. And he always wants us to make sure that when we are out there, we are giving it our all. College coaches, you know how they are—they want you to go 1,000 percent every second of the day. He’s been in college for 20 years, more than that. We’ve had to tell him, like, ‘Coach, we’ve got 82 (games), we can’t kill ourselves,’” Sexton said.

With a woeful 14-40 record in the NBA Eastern Conference, the Cavs are at the bottom of the standings. And while most never really gave Cleveland a chance this season, the turmoil that has been running within has gone against Beilein. And apparently, management is not happy as well.

ESPN reported that a decision on Beilein is expected to be handed down soon. If he is not axed within 24 to 48 hours, critics believe that he will be dismissed by the end of the 2019-20 NBA season. Sexton's comments came even before word got out that the 67-year-old coach's job was in limbo. If this holds up, it means the Cavs will need to go back to the drawing board as it tries to find the right man to steer Cleveland back to the right path. Sexton and Darius Garland are expected to be the new young stars of the franchise, with other slots likely to be filled in the summer.
