The royal family was rocked with some sad news this week with two divorce announcements. The Queen's grandson, Peter Phillips, confirmed his divorce from Autumn, his wife of 12 years. The Queen's nephew, the Earl of Snowdon, is also ending his 25-year marriage to the Countess of Snowdon.

Amid these marital woes, Queen Elizabeth is, apparently, pining her hopes on Prince William and Kate Middleton's strong marriage. According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, last year has been tough for the royals but Prince William and Kate are giving the Queen the strength a horrible time in the royal family.

Seward said that Queen Elizabeth is sad to learn of the royal divorces. While she is pragmatic about the situation of the couples involved, Her Majesty still, apparently, feels that it's "too easy to get divorced" these days. Three of the Queen's four children are also divorcees.

Meanwhile, there's Prince William and Kate whose nearly nine years of marriage has been proving to be stronger than ever before. Amid the exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the royal family, reports say that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are, apparently, growing closer as they embrace more duties and responsibilities as senior royals.

Seward said that, if Prince William and Kate were not happily married, the Queen would have felt that her nearly 70 years as monarch would amount to nothing because of these breakups. The monarch is, reportedly, thankful that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are showing a good example of a strong union.

Prince William and Kate may not be affectionate towards each other in public, unlike Prince Harry and Meghan. However, royal expert Katie Nicholl said that there's a bit of romantic streak in the future King of England. For instance, for Valentine's Day, the Duke of Cambridge likely made sure that his wife had a pretty special time.

The royal expert speculates that Prince William might have treated Kate to her favorite Italian restaurant near their Kensington home or they likely shared a quiet but romantic dinner. Prince William might have also given his wife a thoughtful present and a card for this special occasion.

Prince William and Kate were good friends in college before they became romantic. They briefly split during their first few years of dating but their time apart only made them reassess their future together, especially Kate.
