Before the New Year begins, there are predictions that the monarchy will continuously face troubles within the royal family. As 2020 starts with the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it is then followed by Peter Phillips and David Armstrong-Jones' divorces from their respective wives. From the looks of it, Queen Elizabeth II is being drowned by a lot of royal issues that she needs to handle.
David Armstrong-Jones' divorce is the latest blow that hit Her Majesty. The monarch's nephew and the Earl of Snowdon recently announced that he and his wife, Serena, decided to go on their separate ways, per Express.
This comes a week after Queen Elizabeth's eldest grandchild, Peter Phillips, revealed he and his wife, Autumn, will also be divorcing. With the increasing breakdown of royal marriages, the Queen seems to be forced to shoulder a series of setbacks one after another.
In January, the 93-year-old royalty had to handle royal fallout when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped their bombshell announcement that they would step down as senior members of the royal family. The two wanted to become financially independent and divide their time between the U.K. and North America, particularly in Canada.
Before that, Queen Elizabeth had to face the controversy brought by her son's, Prince Andrew, friendship with the criminal sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He, too, allegedly slept with a 17-year-old woman who was trafficked by the convicted pedophile.
To save the monarchy, she ordered the Duke of York to step down from his royal duties due to the public backlash after his BBC Newsnight interview turned into a disaster. Sadly, the issues surrounding Prince Andrew didn't stop there. The FBI wanted to have a conversation with him and Epstein's victims to tell learn everything that they know.
With all the issues that Queen Elizabeth has to face, she has to handle everything without her husband, Prince Philip, by her side. The Duke of Edinburgh is mostly spending his retirement at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate. Hence, they do not often see each other.
Queen Elizabeth, too, is worried about Prince Philip after he got into an accident that forced him to give up driving on public roads. He was also hospitalized last year, before Christmas, but he is reportedly well now.
Business Times, recently, reported that Frank, who read horoscopes for Princess Diana, predicted that this year would be bumpy for the monarchy. He said Queen Elizabeth would face more troubles ahead this 2020. After everything that happened in 2019, this year would remain a rollercoaster ride for the whole royal family.
