NCIS season 17 episode 16 addressed the current situation of Cote de Pablo's Ziva David and Michael Weatherly's Anthony DiNozzo. Although it's not a full-on reunion, the series did offer up some updates about the two. It seems like they are happy spending time together somewhere else.
In NCIS season 17 episode 16, Tony's father, Anthony DiNozzo Senior, sent a letter and shared that his son and Ziva reunited. Viewers didn't see both characters in this episode, but the update is enough to think that they are happily living together now.
Jimmy was delivering and recapping letters sent to the team in NCIS season 17 episode 16. DiNozzo Senior penned the letters, and he was thrilled to share that his son and granddaughter reunited with Ziva. All of them are hanging out in Paris and having a good time.
Finally, Ziva is able to live a happy life with her love interest, daughter, and father-in-law in Paris. This is a great conclusion for the character, especially since she's been through a lot because of her missions. Ziva got a peaceful life now, which only shows that NCIS still delivers a satisfying story to some characters.
But, is there a chance Ziva and Tony will appear together at some point? According to CarterMatt, the door is not fully closed, yet Weatherly has other projects as he's one of the series-regulars in Bull. If ever the reunion doesn't happen, at least the series addressed their current situation.
Aside from addressing the current situation of Ziva and Tony, NCIS season 17 episode 16 also sees the team investigating the story behind a mysterious coin. The episode featured flashbacks, and some of the characters are playing a different role to track the coin's history.
The team was able to solve the murder and figured out the mystery surrounding the coin. It turns out Annie stole it rather than Art -- he was blamed for it for most of the episode. Apparently, Annie intended to sell it so she and Art could go on an adventure forever.
Meanwhile, there is no new episode of NCIS season 17 airing next week and the week after. So, viewers need to wait for a little while, as the new episode is set to arrive next month. The episode will, reportedly, air on Tuesday, March 10, with the title "In a Nutshell."
No further details have been revealed, but the episode will probably feature another big case. In addition, the series is now nearing its 400th episode; there might be other bigger things coming later on, and also a celebration of the series' past and future.
NCIS season 17 airs every Tuesday on CBS.
