Hallyu star Rain is one of the most famous Korean artists today. He gained success in both music and acting fields. However, though he is already a star, there was still a time that he got cut off from a talk show broadcast and it upsets him.
During his recent guest appearance on Radio Star, Rain was asked by hosts why he got traumatized in appearing in their talk show. The Full House actor said it was because he once got upset with the show when he got cut off from the broadcast.
Rain recalled that about 10 years ago, Radio Star invited him to appear on the show. He accepted the invite and he was the only guest for the episode at the time.
After filming for eight hours, Rain believed that he did a great job. He admitted that he expected a lot from the episode. He thought he would be the talk of the town after the episode airs. Rain was excited to watch the episode and he even gathered his family to watch it with him.
It turned out that South Korean figure skater Kim Yuna was a guest star on the program that aired prior to his Radio Star episode. Rain said Kim Yuna's episode kept on airing and his Radio Star episode didn't. He thought it could be a two-hour special for Kim Yuna.
At the time, Yuna just competed at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She set a new world record in figure skating and won the country's first gold medal in a sport other than speed skating or short track.
In the end, Radio Star went on air but Rain only had a few minutes of appearance. Basically, he just said his name and that's about it.
It turned out that the short clip that Radio Star aired featuring Rain was just a teaser for the episode. The Speed Racer star said the viewers did not know that though because many expected to watch him on that day.
It sparked controversy at the time as many slammed Radio Star for humiliating Rain. The Ninja Assassin actor said he was even called "Five Minutes of Humiliation" because of it. Nonetheless, Rain was grateful that his episode aired and it was all about him.
Rain was last seen in the MBC K-drama Welcome 2 Life which aired last year. He is set to star in the upcoming Chinese drama, titled Endless August. The TV series is expected to be released this year.
