Kevin Love is pretty much aware that his days with the Cleveland Cavaliers are numbered. He was expecting a trade to go down last Feb. 6. An NBA trade did happen, but the Cavs ended up adding Andre Drummond. When the trade deadline lapsed, the five-time All-Star was still with the Cavaliers.

Love admits that he was expecting to be dealt with another team earlier this month. However, other NBA ballclubs who would covet him have a big obstacle to overcome. This is with regards to the $120 million contract he holds, by no means a big amount that would be hard to deal for. Regardless, the 31-year-old cager knows that his name will be in NBA trade headlines this summer, the Bleacher Report reported. That is unless something changes along the way for the Cavs.

As most know, John Beilein is no longer around. He was replaced by JB Bickerstaff, who could alter that outlook of the former NBA champions. Right now, Love is part of a curious but talented frontline that would be good against any team. Cleveland needs to realize what they have right now and possibly try to keep it together.

One person that stands in the way is Cavs general manager Koby Altman. Most know how Love went off on the general manager out of frustration. But all that was vented mainly with the system that Beilein put into place. Things could be different moving forward even if the Cavs are out of the NBA playoff race.

Love wants to join a contender. That is understandable since he is frustrated with the way things are going on in Cleveland right now. However, most have forgotten that Love got his monster deal mainly because the Cavaliers saw him as someone who could be the new foundation for the team. In their 2019-20 campaign, it never came close to that with emphasis on their youth movement. The script could change with Bickerstaff at the helm.

Hence, Love's tenure with the Cavs may not be entirely over. It all depends on how the team performs for the rest of the current NBA season and if Altman wants to give the All-Star forward a chance to be the face of the franchise. This season, Love has played in 46 games averaging 17.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per Basketball-Reference.com. Though a tad lower than his career averages, they are reliable numbers that could guide the Cavs back to the winning track.
