THIS BREED IS OFTEN GIVEN COOL JOBS

One of the most amazing things about Beagles is their very strong sense of smell. Because of how incredible their talent and skill can be, some of the dogs from this breed have gained cool and amazing jobs, especially in the military and security industry.

At present, you can see some of these dogs working as bedbug detectors, as revealed by the American Kennel Club. Others are also working as a part of the Department of Homeland Security inspecting food amid passengers' luggage. This they do to protect their country from possible foreign parasites and diseases, which could negatively affect their country's agriculture.

BEAGLES CAN DETECT LUNG CANCER

In a study conducted by the researchers at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania showed how Beagles can detect lung cancer in humans with almost a hundred accuracy rate. This was revealed after the dogs have been exposed to healthy lung cells and cancer cells. Researchers said this ability to detect lung cancer cells almost accurately is all because of Beagle's 225 million olfactory receptors, making their sense of smell 10,000 times stronger than humans, as reported by CBS17.

This discovery can be very helpful especially with the increasing number of people suffering from lung cancer worldwide. Based on the statistics shared by the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is still the leading cause of death among cancer patients globally. In the US alone, there are already about 200,000 people diagnosed with the illness.

BEAGLES ARE A PERFECT FOR FAMILY PET

Originally bred to become a hunting dog, this pooch is now adopted by most to simply become their cute furball. Perfect as a family pet, this breed can do well with children and other pets. Furthermore, their coat is also low-maintenance and won't require you a lot of time to keep it clean for a longer period.
