Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially leave the monarchy on March 31. However, they will remain to be the patrons of their patronages, including those defined as royal advocacies. As the 2020 Invictus Games is coming near, will Prince William and Kate Middleton join the Sussexes despite the so-called Megxit?
There are reports the Cambridges will snub the upcoming event, which is very important for the Duke of Sussex. According to Express, the sixth in line to the throne is "working flat out" for the Invictus Games that will be held at The Hague in the Netherlands in 12 weeks time.
A source told The Sun Online that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be at the forefront of the center of the games. As the Duchess of Sussex knows how important this event is for her husband, she will surely be at his side.
However, it looks like other members of the royal family may never attend the event. If ever Prince William and Kate Middleton don't make it in the Netherlands, royal sources claims their absence can't be considered as a royal snub.
In fact, an insider explained that Prince William is not expected to be at the 2020 Invictus Games -- even before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped their bombshell announcement in January. Hence, it is highly unlikely that the future king and his wife will be part of the sports event in any way. However, it is not a snub.
Despite the royal exit, the tipster added that the entire royal family is still supportive and very proud of Prince Harry's works on Invictus. They even think that it is a wonderful event.
Invictus is very much in Prince Harry's vision, although he regularly turns to his father, Prince Charles, for advice and support over the years. Although he already left his post as a senior member of the royal family with his wife, things will remain the same, but he will be the games' front and center.
Prince Harry has been attending the event since it began in 2014. However, other royals, like Prince William and Kate Middleton, don't usually make an appearance. In the latter years, only Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Invictus Games.
In fact, in the 2017 Invictus Games, Prince Harry made a high-profile public appearance with Meghan Markle. Before this year's event and imminent Megxit, the royal couple still has to attend six more royal engagements.
