Liz helped her fake her own death, while Reddington believes her to be dead. So, what will he do when he finds out that Katarina is still alive? This might be enough to keep Katarina's story moving for a while.
However, there's also a chance her story will wrap up in The Blacklist season 7, and the series will choose to go in a different direction. It's also uncertain whether or not Katarina is the ultimate Big Bad in the current installment. There could be other larger threats coming, like something related to Neville Townsend -- Townsend Directive's supposed architect who was introduced earlier this season.
Meanwhile, the good news is that The Blacklist season 7 will not be the last as the series has been renewed for another season. NBC confirmed the show is coming back for another batch of episodes and that the entire cast is coming back.
