The leading information and communications technologies (ICT) and digital service provider in the Philippines PLDT Enterprise has partnered with Alibaba Cloud to serve in the 30 Southeast Asian Games. The partnership was said to ensure smooth and efficient accommodation of Esports at the regional sports event.

Alibaba Cloud, the number one cloud service provider in the Asia Pacific has partnered with Philippines ICT and digital service provider PLDT. The latter has been supporting the country's Esports events and has built capabilities of local athletes in competing globally.

The partnership would boost the Philippines' growing cloud ecosystem and would showcase Esports in the upcoming SEA Games. The two technology providers would accommodate the athletes with world-class gaming experience. The services would include cloud infrastructure solutions and connectivity services.

According to the PLDT Enterprise Regional Head for Asia Pacific Jeff Mendoza, the Philippines has been home to promising contenders in online gaming. He said that it has participated in Esports events in Southeast Asia and even entered a global scale in recent years.

He further discussed that PLDT is set on supporting the growth course by providing local gamers with services that promote their gaming capacities. He added that the company would engage in business with technology providers such as Alibaba Cloud to invest in infrastructure and services that would realize the company's goals.

The report claimed that the company has been extending its reach into developing markets to increase the value and cloud ecosystems of providers to local customers.

According to LiveMint, Alibaba Group is not without competition. Its report claimed that Google has been plotting a business course to dominate the cloud market. It has decided to cut jobs from its cloud-computing division to focus more on delivering growth to its parent company Alphabet Inc.

The chief executive officer of Google Cloud Thomas Kurian revealed that the company aims to dominate the cloud-computing industry after it incurred more than 25 billion USD in sales in a span of a few years.

According to Google's former employees, Google has a great growth potential with its market share set at just four percent. Gartner Inc. claimed that it has been in league with the greatest performers in the industry including Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., and China's Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
