It’s no secret that Meghan Markle doesn’t have a great relationship with her father. The wife of Prince Harry and Thomas Markle had nothing but not so pleasant words to say about each other.
But now that Meghan Markle’s father has a new girlfriend, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly hoping that Thomas Markle would “fad away” and stop bothering her. The insider claimed that the former actress sees this as an opportunity for her dad to put his time and effort on someone else.
“Part of the problem with Thomas is that he has so much time on his hands,” the source said. He has a lot of time to stew, to think and to get angry. Again and again, that has led to him speaking out and giving interviews which have caused a lot of upset, particularly for Meghan. She hopes now he’s got someone else in his life he will fade away and not bother her. He’s caused enough problems already.”
It was previously revealed that Thomas Markle brought flowers for his new girlfriend on Valentine’s Day. And because of this, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly hoping for a “fresh start.”
“Meghan and Harry are looking forward to a fresh start and hope that Thomas will give them the opportunity to do that without him interfering or causing any more distress,” the insider shared. “But they know only time will tell. And they are mindful whoever this new girlfriend is could also talk if Thomas decides to pour his heart out to her. The danger of Thomas making their lives difficult is never far away.”
The statement has come just a day after Thomas Markle criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their recent action. He said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “insulting” Queen Elizabeth.
“I'm very upset with Harry and Meghan right now,” Meghan Markle’s father said. "They don't have a right to speak to the Queen the way they've spoken to her. I think it's an insult to the Queen and the British people."
While Thomas Markle mostly gets a lot of hate for his comments, this time, however, most royal fans agree to his sentiment. Many took to social media to share their disappointment with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as well.
“I don’t understand why Meghan needs a foundation & her Sussex title since they left the royal family? They go hand-in-hand. Now that she’s no longer a royal, she doesn’t need either. The Queen needs to strip the titles. End of story,” another one wrote.
