Former First Lady Michelle Obama had said in the past that she has no plans to run for any public office in the upcoming elections. Would she turn down another plea if it comes from Luke Skywalker?

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill recently tweeted a photo of Mrs. Obama along with his wish that the former FLOTUS should be given a chance to run for office. The actor, who famously played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, said whoever becomes the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party should consider Michelle as a running mate.

Hamill has been known as a fierce critic of President Donald Trump. He has also been vocal about his support to women in key political posts.

Michelle Obama, on the other hand, has been keen on her stand that she has no interest in running for any office. The mother-of-two has repeatedly squashed any talk of her running. In her memoir, Becoming, Michelle also made it clear why she would never run.

During an appearance in Today show in celebration of the International Day of the Girl in October 2018, anchor Savannah Guthrie asked Mrs. Obama if she would be interested in pursuing a career in politics. Michelle said she never wanted to be a politician. The former FLOTUS clarified that she wants to serve but reiterated that there are many ways to make an impact other than being an elected official.

A month later, she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote her book and was asked the same thing. Michelle revealed that even her husband, former President Barack Obama, is keeping her away from influential politicians who would approach and persuade her to run.

"Barack keeps those people away from me. No, I haven't had any serious conversations with anyone about it because it's not something that I'm interested in or would ever do. Ever," the ex-FLOTUS said.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, the Chicago native lawyer revealed the one thing that she has been dying to learn but was only able to do last year. Michelle explained that for the past decade she has been very busy being a lawyer, a mother, and then as First Lady. All of these left her no time for things that she has been wanting to learn for years.

When asked what it was, Michelle answered that in 2019 she finally learned how to play cornhole. It is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing 16-ounce bags of corn kernels at a raised platform with a hole in the far end.
