Prince Andrew reportedly broke royal protocols and rules when he allowed Caprice Bourret to sit on Queen Elizabeth II's throne during a date at Buckingham Palace. Not only that, but the Duke of York also let the supermodel take one of the palace's decorative bowls. So, who is this 48-year-old television personality and what she has to do with the troubled prince?
Caprice is a Dancing on Ice star, who wined and dined with Prince Andrew before. However, a source told The Sun that she never really fancied Sarah Ferguson's ex-husband and was only swept of the idea that she was a member of the royal family. They never even kissed as she was only attracted to him because of his royal title.
"But as an American, she was thoroughly entertained at the notion he was a part of the Royal Family," the insider explained. Allegedly, all their secret meetings were a "great family dinner conversation point," although deemed unnecessary.
The tipster revealed that Prince Andrew took Caprice at the Buckingham Palace twice and even let her sit on the Queen's throne. When she saw a bowl she liked, she asked Princess Beatrice's father if she could have it to give it to her mom.
Caprice claimed Prince Andrew let her have the bowl, and her mother loved it. Anyhow, it was a strange thing for a prince to make a woman enter the Throne Room, as Queen Elizabeth could walk in anytime.
Although he has an apartment and usually entertains friends there, touring pals around the palace is quite extraordinary. Anyhow, Prince Andrew and Caprice's romance, if there is any, is only short-lived.
They started dating after meeting at a dinner party, where they were seated next to each other. They only went for a few dates and developed a platonic friendship.
According to Daily Mail, Prince Andrew and Caprice's date at Buckingham Palace occurred months before he reportedly slept with Virginia Roberts Guiffre. At the time, she was only 17 years old.
They allegedly split after rumors about their romance started to surface. She then introduced her to her friend, Denise Martell, to whom he was involved with for a decade.
Prince Harry was also said to be jealous of his uncle. The 16-year-old Duke of Sussex was said to have a soft spot for Caprice. He also had her calendar displayed on his bedroom wall at Eton at the time.
After ending things between them, Caprice also stopped taking royal calls. Her friend claimed that she didn't have a romantic interest in Prince Andrew and she was only interested to know about the royal family.
