Elton John is not dying as claimed by a tabloid. Although the English singer had some bad days recently due to respiratory ailment, it is not true that he only has a few months to live.

The Globe made a claim this week that Elton John could have a few months to live because of his stubbornness. The tabloid cited a source as saying the "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" singer has been confined to a wheelchair.

"John has been told to slow down his schedule, but as usual, Elton carries on under the delusion that he's indestructible. He could well be dead in six months," the source alleged.

The insider made an assumption based on the fact that John cut short his show at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on February 16 after he was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Then the tabloid brought back Elton John's past history of drug abuse, despite the singer/composer being sober for almost 30 years now.

It is true that the "Candle In The Wind" singer had surgery on his vocal cords in 1987 and admitted that he never fully recovered his full vocal range after the surgery. However, some tabloids claimed that John's drug abuse and history of bulimia in the past have affected his voice even further.

Gossip Cop debunked The Globe story. The publication noted that it is not true that the multi-awarded musician is confined to a wheelchair. In fact, he was recently walked on stage to accept his Oscars award for Best Original Song for his biopic, Rocketman.

It has been reported that John has also been cleared to perform again on February 19 following the shortened show in New Zealand. He resumed his tour in Australia with a show in Melbourne and two in Coffs Coast, New South Wales.

Moreover, the 72-year-old singer would also continue with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour for the rest of the year. He has scheduled tour dates in North America as well as in Europe. He also rescheduled his New Zealand concerts to make up for the shortened and canceled shows.

Gossip Cop stressed that tabloids have a habit of using John's occasional illness to create false claims. It noted that Globe's sister publication, the National Enquirer, earlier claimed the Grammy award winner songwriter would never sing again. The outlet based its claim also on the shortened show of John in New Zealand.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour would be the iconic singer's final international tour. John has previously admitted to the difficulty of traveling as he gets older.
