The Los Angeles Lakers, featuring the 35-year-old LeBron James, defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in a game that showcased the present and future of the NBA. The league, according to James, will be in good hands when he retires because the young stars, bannered by the likes of Zion Williamson and Luka Doncic, are expected to further shine.

Already in his 17th year and with three NBA rings, James betrays no indication that will be out of the game soon. The Lakers subdued the Pelicans, 122-114, and King James, as usual, is leading the pack. He connects no fewer than 25 points per game in the season makes sure that every outing, the Lakers will be an inch closer to the NBA Finals.

CNN said James is a man on fire. There is no hint he is slowing down anytime soon and it appears the title-chase for the Lakers will find success on James' second year with the Purple & Gold.

And he plays even better basketball going up against the league's rising star. James is raising the bar on himself by making at least 30 points per game when on the court with Williamson, Doncic, and other young superstars in the making.

Per the same report, James is not falling behind facing off with the NBA's future stars. His batting average indicates he is winning against them.

"I do it for the love of the game and I do it for the guys who come after me that have the same passion I believe I had when I came up," the 16-time All-Star was reported as saying.

James knew his playing days will soon end and he is happy he'll be watching from the sidelines an NBA that will continue to thrive because of the exciting young bunch of players.

"The league is in great hands with a guy like Zion, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Jayson Tatum, and the list goes on and on. I'm just happy to be a part of it and be on the floor with those guys in their younger days," the Laker superstar declared.

Williamson is emerging as someone that could take the place James occupy now, and the King is only too happy to lead the youngster where to go.

The 19-year-old fired 35 points against the Lakers. Bleacher Report said not only did Williamson bested James's 35 points in the game but the teenager also etched his name into NBA history. In the last seven games, he has been producing an average of 29 points.

The two embraced after the game and the veteran offered a piece of advice, which the newbie has elected to keep to himself for now.

"It definitely means something cuz he's been doing this for 17 years, and his resume speaks for itself. So for him to say that holds something. That's all I can say about that," Williamson was reported as saying.
