The Sixers might be studying the possibility of sending Al Horford to an interested party in the offseason and the rumored move was fueled by the big man's recent exit from Philadelphia's starting five. In case Horford is forced to make a switch, it would seem the Warriors will be happy to take him in.

It seemed odd that after signing the five-time All-Star to a four-year contract worth $109 million, word got out that Philadelphia could be offloading Horford as soon as summertime sets in. One indication of this plan was Horford losing his spot on the first five.

Clutch Points said it was a demotion by any account as the Sixers were compelled to implement adjustments because the pairing up with Joel Embiid failed to deliver to expectations. Initially, Horford was relegated to the second unit and he could be moving out soon.

Supposedly, Horford and Embiid led to replicating roles and Philadelphia will want to address this problem by sending one out of the club and make a move a bargaining asset.

The pressing need by the team is to get a new talent that will spread out the floor and make for better shooting opportunities. The Sixers will need to address a nagging issue immediately. The team has 14 games away from home and a reconfigure of the roster may just do the trick.

Right now, Horford playing off the bench is hoped to see more winning games for Philadelphia but if consistent victories will remain hard to come by, head coach Brett Brown will need to make the hard decision come summer. The Sixers might be saying goodbye to Horford soon.

Should that happen, Horford can choose to head west. In the Bay Area, the Warriors are reportedly looking to beef up on their inside operations. Fadeaway World said Golden State will want to acquire a quality big man who will work well with Draymond Green.

"The idea of pairing the two of them defensively should give the Western Conference nightmares. Few teams have the front-court personnel to switch everything, but a Horford-Green pairing would allow the Warriors to do so with ease," the report quoted recent claims made by Sam Quinn of CBS Sports.

Quinn said Horford's set skills, specifically his passing ability, will be perfect to the motion offense used by Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. It will be like Green and Horford forming up the Splash Brothers and the pair creating their space on the floor to do their thing.

The report said Horford will be a great addition to the Warriors roster as "he's a mobile, passing big who can stretch the floor and defend the pick-and-roll."

For the Warriors to convince Philadelphia to a trade deal, the former will put Andrew Wiggins on the table. The 25-year-old scoring forward was acquired when D'Angelo Russell was traded to Minnesota recently.
