Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a three-day royal tour in Ireland. The couple arrived on their first official visit to their neighboring country on March 3 but their kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis -- stayed behind in Kensington Palace.

The two older Cambridge children have school to attend thus they cannot join their parents abroad. In previous royal tours, Prince George was with Prince William and Kate when they went to Australia 2014. He also joined his parents on a royal tour to Germany, along with his younger sister Princess Charlotte, last 2017. Only Prince Louis has not traveled overseas for a royal event with his family.

According to Hello!, while Prince William and Kate are away the family, nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo is minding the Cambridge children and taking care of things like the school run and their usual evening routines. The Spanish-born nanny has been with the family since Prince George turned eight months old. She also was with the Cambridges during their previous royal tours with the kids.

However, Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton may also be taking turns checking up on the Cambridge kids. It's common for Carole to visit her grandchildren when their mom and dad are preoccupied with their work in the royal family. For instance, Carole was seen at Kensington while Prince William and Kate were at Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Diplomatic Corps reception last December 2019.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate drank Ireland's famous Guinness beer on their visit to Dublin's Storehouse. They were following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth who was in the same attraction in 2011.

Prince William joked that he cannot believe he is retracing his grandmother's tracks to a pub. Reports cited that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look very relaxed as they talked and laughed with members of the coast guard, the fire and rescue service and the ambulance service.

The royal pair also met with the President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabrina. They were also lovingly greeted by the president's famous Bernese Mountain dog Brod. In 2018, Brod also met Prince Harry and Meghan during their royal visit. Missing to welcome Prince William and Harry, however, was Sioda, the president's other dog as she's apparently down with a paw injury, according to People.
