After going on hiatus last year to focus on his mental health, it seems that Kang Daniel is in a better state now as he gears to return to the spotlight with a new reality show, entitled Hello Daniel.
According to Soompi, Hello Daniel will follow Kang Daniel as he travels to Portland, Oregon to reflect as a normal 25-year-old man and not as an idol.
The project, which will air on new cable channel SBS Medianet, was reportedly accepted by Daniel because he has been looking for transformation and wanted to find it through traveling.
It can be recalled that after making a comeback for Touchin' last year, Kang Daniel suddenly announced a break from promotions after he was diagnosed with anxiety. His label KONNECT Entertainment cited that the idol has been suffering from bouts of anxiety since early last year but only went on hiatus when his symptoms grew more severe.
In an interview to talk about Hello Daniel, the former WANNA ONE member seemed to be happier and healthier and said that even though he felt the pressure of doing a solo variety program, he was optimistic because he believed in the purpose of the program.
He also talked about how he found peace during his travel to Portland as the quiet time allowed him to organize his thoughts and concerns.
Apart from working as a popular solo artist, Kang Daniel is also the boss of his own record label KONNECT Entertainment, which he established after WANNA ONE's disbandment.
"I learned to take it easy. I think I also became thankful for the small things. There are things you can only see if you walk slowly. Rather than focusing on what kind of person I am, I want to become someone who asks myself what kind of life I'll lead in the future as Kang Daniel. I think there will be no end to finding the true Kang Daniel," he said.
He expressed hope that the viewers of Hello Daniel will feel the happiness of traveling with him.
As Kang Daniel returns to active promotions, he also announced some changes in his official Instagram accounts, All Kpop reported.
He said that he will be maintaining his personal Instagram account @daniel.k.here for his own posts but all of the promotions and announcements will be coursed through the official Instagram account handled by his label. All announcements regarding Kang Daniel will be posted on @kangdaniel.official_.
