Stephen Curry was originally rescheduled to rejoin the Warriors on March 1, but the two-time MVP's return was pushed back at a later date. And that could happen on the 5th of the month when the Dubs again face their 2019 Finals nemesis, the Toronto Raptors.

The strong hint that Curry will finally return to action came from Steve Kerr, who indicated that the superstar playing after months of absence is "definitely a possibility." The Warriors head coach said Curry was prevented from playing against the Wizards to make sure is all fired up for a competitive NBA game.

That was the exact reason the shooting guard was sent to the Santa Cruz Warriors, which is Golden State's G League affiliate. Clutch Points said Curry practiced and scrimmaged with the team and the brief stint appeared to convince the Warriors front office that the player is again ready for the big league.

The last time Curry played was October 2019 and he was forced out of action due to a broken metacarpal in his left hand. It appears now that all is good and Curry made for a convincing case when he flashed his old self with the Santa Cruz squad.

According to CBS Sports, the three-time NBA champ will meet with Kerr this week and it will be decided then if his Chase Center will be a go.

"We'll get together tomorrow with Steph -- he's getting more work in today -- and I think tomorrow we'll get together and determine what the next step is," Kerr was reported as saying.

The coach also shared that the decision to stop Curry from playing against Washington was disapproved by the guard but he eventually relented when told it was for his own good.

"He was not thrilled, but Steph is always very rational and easy to speak with. He put up a little bit of a fight, but also understood why we wanted to take extra precaution so he's OK with it," Kerr recalled.

CBS said Curry would return to a revamped Warriors lineup that no longer has D'Angelo Russell. Instead, he will find Andrew Wiggins and so far, the latest addition has been proving that he is worth the trouble of losing Russell.

The former No. 1 pick has been firing impressive numbers and averages 19.9 points per game. With a 13-48 record, it is no longer a question if the Warriors will make the Finals but to be sure Curry will make use of the remaining games to check if he and Wiggins can play great basketball.

The Warriors exiting early will give them a secure grip on the Top 3 picks in the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery. This tool plus the prospect of having a healthier Klay Thompson and Curry for the next season will allow the Dubs to return to title contention after a campaign mostly marred by disappointments.
