Lee Hi has reportedly signed with Jay Park's label AOMG for an exclusive recording contract.

According to a report, Lee Hi has already signed with AOMG which is specialized in releasing hip hop tracks. However, sources close to the singer have refrained from making any confirmations, citing that the matter was still being discussed about a possible contract.

It was previously reported that Lee Hi was in talks to sign with MAKEUS Entertainment for the next stage of her career. MAKEUS Entertainment is known for boosting the career of Kpop artists like Sunmi, who popularized the hit track Gashina. However, there were also no confirmations made about the discussions.

It can be recalled that Lee Hi was among the artists who chose to leave YG Entertainment last year at the height of negative publicity surrounding the agency with the Burning Sun Scandal. YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk resigned from his post after he was accused if both the Burning Sun issue and B.I.'s alleged drug scandal. BIGBANG maknae Seungri also left YG Entertainment and retired from the industry last year after he was investigated for the biggest scandal to rock the Korean entertainment industry.

In December 2019, Lee Hi officially announced that she was leaving YG Entertainment after assuring fans that her decision was the result of discussions with the label. YG also released a separate statement expressing support for their former artist as she explored her path under new management.

YG Entertainment also asked fans to continue supporting Lee Hi as she leaves the agency to embark on new projects, Soompi reported.

"As this is a decision I made after a long time of thinking, I want to sincerely thank the many people at YG who supported my decision and a new start, and I'll do my best to repay everyone with better music. As I'm leaving the agency I spent 8 years with, which is a long time, and was there for growth, I'll be even more careful about choosing my next agency, and I hope to greet you soon with good news," Lee Hi wrote in a heartfelt letter to fans.

It can be recalled that Lee HI started her career as a runner up in Kpop Star in 2011. She was later signed by YG Entertainment and was developed as a solo artist who made a debut in 2012. Throughout her career, she carved a reputation for herself as a representative of the next generation of female vocalists.
