As Dr. Romantic 2 ended with all-time high ratings, actor Kim Min Jae, who played nurse Park Eun Tak in the first and second seasons, shared the possibility of adding an additional season to the popular drama.

The finale ratings, which aired last February 26, peaked at 21.1, 25.4, and 27.1 percent in both nationwide and Seoul areas, and marked the series highest-rated episodes, Soompi reported.

While in the first season, Kim Min Jae's character did not have a significant love line, the second season showed his budding romance with medical intern Ah Reum, who signed up to go to Doldam hospital because of her admiration for Kim Sabu.

According to the actor, he did not hesitate to reprise his role as Park Eun Tak because he had a really good experience playing the role in Dr. Romantic Season 1. He said that he was discouraged by some people to accept a supporting role, given that he played the lead in his recent drama Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency.

"I think people around me worried more than I did. I wanted to appear in Dr. Romantic 2 no matter what, but people around me kept saying, 'But wouldn't it be better for you to appear as a lead?' I'm not so sure if that's the right thing. Even so, I wanted to appear in Dr. Romantic 2. It's a very precious project to me," he said.

It appeared he made a good call because his character's storyline with Ah Reum drew a lot of fans to the series, and even pushed for Kim Min Jae and actress So Ju Yeon to date in real life.

"We're not dating. There's zero chance of us dating [in the future] as well. Min Jae received a lot of questions about this during his interviews, too, which made me think that we succeeded [in portraying a couple in the drama]," she said in an interview.

Shippers of Eun Tak and Ah Reum did find comfort in the knowledge that they are good friends in real life. They also agreed that everyone on the cast wants to do a third season of the drama.

"[The cast] said to each other that we'd like to do a Season 3. I don't know whether it'll happen, but if it does, I'd want to be a part of it no matter what," So Ju Yeon said.

As for Kim Min Jae, he said that he would like to continue playing Eun Tak if a third season happens. He said that he would love to explore the character's back story and what made him so connected to Kim Sabu and Doldam in the first place.
