Manchester United is on a 10-game winning streak and Paul Pogba can't help but notice that things are looking up for his club. Reports said the Frenchman now wants to stay amid rumors of a planned summer departure and get the chance to play alongside Bruno Fernandes, whose recent signing led to the Red Devils picking up successive wins.
Since suiting up for United, Fernandes has yet to taste defeat and the team is inching closer to finish in the Top 4 of the Premier League table. That means Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side now has a higher chance of qualifying for the Champions League, and it would seem Pogba does not intend to be left behind.
The World Cup winner stayed in the sidelines for the most part in the season and speculations are rife he is leaving in the summer for a new team, which could be Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona or Real Madrid. However, The Daily Mail said a summer transfer might not be in the cards anymore for Pogba.
"Pogba is prepared to commit his future to Manchester United amid a growing belief he can spearhead a new era of success at Old Trafford ... Pogba sees his long-term future at United and is happy to stay - and even extend his existing deal," the report said.
It was likewise suggested that Pogba has been watching Fernandes and would want to team up with the Portuguese, who has been described by pundits as a game-changer for the Red Devils.
The report said Pogba is convinced that collaborating with Fernandes will make for a formidable United midfield force. If the partnership will push through, pundits said Solskjaer will have an unstoppable midfield weapon at his disposal with Scott McTominay added to the mix.
Pogba still has two more years to go with United but as indicated in the report, the striker is now ready to negotiate for a possible extension. In so doing, he could be looking to a salary increase of around £400,000 a week that will make him one of the best-paid footballer.
Meanwhile, the rumors refuse to simmer down that Pogba is still considering a move out of Old Trafford. The latest to fan such talks is his brother Florentin, who claimed the Pogba clan still dreams to see the attacker donning a uniform of the Spanish giants.
"At the moment, there's no talk about it, but I've always said that I want my brother to sign for Real Madrid ... I want it, but at the moment, we are just chatting about it," Sport Bible reported the older Pogba as saying.
He clarified though that the topic is a long-running discussion in the family and no one expects it to happen anytime soon.
