Many fans have anticipated that Katherine Langford will be seen in Avengers: Endgame when it hit cinemas in 2019. But she didn't. Langford had accepted that her scene got cut off but her fans are still wondering why it was scrapped in the three-hour cinema version.

Langford played the role of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts's daughter, Morgan (also played by Lexi Rabe as a young girl) in Avengers: Endgame. She did film a scene for that. Unfortunately, it did not make it to the final cut that viewers were able to watch in theaters. So what happened?

In an interview on the MTV podcast Happy Sad Confused, Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo confirmed that Langford filmed a scene for the movie. However, they decided not to include it in the final product because of a certain reason.

The brothers explained that the 13 Reasons Why actress was set to appear in a dream sequence once Iron Man snapped his finger while wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. The scene was like when Thanos snapped his finger in Infinity War and he got transported to a metaphysical world. In this world, he had a brief conversation with the child version of his daughter, Gamora.

"There was an idea that we had that Tony [Stark] was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes into when he snapped his fingers [at the end of Infinity War]," Joe Russo said.

The brothers said their intention of including an adult Morgan in the story is to show Tony's daughter forgave him and gave him peace to go. However, when the test audience watched the movie, they were "confused" by the scene of adult Morgan.

Anthony Russo said they realized that the audience did not feel an emotional connection with the adult version of Morgan which they also feel. Ultimately, they decided to remove it. Instead, the viewers saw Tony snapped his finger and the scene jumped right into Thanos' army disappearing, skipping the metaphysical world entirely.

Langford said it was a creative decision. The 23-year-old Australian star said she is totally fine with the decision of the Marvel's executives not to include her scene in the cinema version and still grateful to share a screen with Robert Downey Jr. The actress' scene, however, can be watched in the Disney + version of the movie.

Meanwhile, Langford is set to appear in Netflix drama Cursed this year. The streaming giant has yet to announce a release date for the series. She will also star in sci-fi film Spontaneous.
