New Amsterdam season 2 episode 17 will be airing next week on NBC, with the title "Liftoff." There are a lot of interesting storylines in this episode, including a story about crowdfunding. But, perhaps the main focus here is Dr. Reynolds' story since he's planning to leave New Amsterdam. However, an unexpected incident happened and this could further affect his decision.

In New Amsterdam season 2 episode 17, Max is searching for a solution to crowdfunding following his eye-opening appearance in a viral "Go Fund Me" video. Max will try to do his best to help, especially since a lot of patients often resort to crowdfunding to pay for their care. This is also a relevant issue, which happens in real life as well.

But aside from that, the upcoming episode may likely bring a big story for Dr. Reynolds. He and his fiancé are preparing to move out to San Francisco, and the synopsis notes the doctor would be taking his last laps at the hospital. However, it looks like something bad happened to him which leads to some speculations that he may not make it out of New Amsterdam alive.

The promo of New Amsterdam season 2 episode 17 opens with Reynolds saying, "I love New Amsterdam. And that's what makes leaving so hard." The clip then shows him ready to leave the hospital, but he heard someone's voice seemingly in trouble. It turns out that the person was stuck and when Reynolds tried to help him, the elevator starts descending.

This leads to speculation that Reynolds may not be leaving New Amsterdam, but he'll actually die. The promo also asks who will save Dr. Reynolds now that he's in danger. It remains to be seen what will happen to him, as well as the man he saved. If ever he survived, this experience may also be one of the reasons why he wants to leave the hospital.

In another report, The Good Doctor producer and Hawaii Five-0 veteran Daniel Dae Kim will be the newest addition in New Amsterdam season 2. He will be playing the role of Dr. Cassian Shin, the new head trauma surgeon. He'll be arriving in the episode titled "Pandemic," in which an unknown and deadly strain of flu has brought chaos at the hospital.
